We'd decided to go to Masham from there and traveled over Kirkby Malzard Moor - it was stunning, quite a dramatic sky and white bog cotton everywhere so we decided to stop and take some more pictures. When we get back to the car 30-40mins later - the car wouldn't start!!! Who knew that leaving a cool box plugged in when the car was off still drained the battery!?! Ok most of you reading this probably did but I didn't.... After calling the rescue people who said they would be an hour (yeah right!) we got out the already mentioned picnic blankets, BBQ, chicken, sausages and salad and set up at the side of the road. We got some funny looks but had a blast - we had coffee, water and sun screen and were set for how ever long it took them to come out and rescue us. Good job really as it took then 2hrs 10mins to find us! We forgave the driver for getting lost and feed him from the BBQ - everybody happy.
The last picture below is my home - the Nidderdale Valley - I love coming home to that view and feel very lucky!
